holz Dominance

Factory Holz racers demonstrated the performance prowess of their Holz Racing equipped ATVs and Polaris RZR UTVs, with victories in Pro ATV and Pro Performance UTV classes in round 7 of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) held in Milford, California. Holz racers Josh Frederick (Moapa, NV) and Brandon Smith (South Jordan, UT) led the way in the highly contested Pro ATV class, capturing the top two podium positions and locked Frederick as the year-end championship title with a commanding 33 point lead and one race left.

Proving the competitiveness of the Holz Racing modified quads, three more Holz backed racers finished in the top ten including Brandon Smith, who was close on the heals of Frederick aboard his Holz modified Can-Am 450DS. Completing the Holz field was Beau Baron (Atascadero, CA) in fourth place and Mike Machado (Denair, CA) in ninth.

Not to be outdone, Mark Holz (Lynden, WA) once again marred the title sponsor name of the Rhino Mod Performance UTV class by capturing his third victory in just four races, placing his Holz outfitted Polaris RZR on the podium. The Milford venue also saw ATV racer Mike Machado try his hand for the first time behind the wheel of a performance UTV. Aside from a Holz Racing long travel kit and roll cage, Machado drove his near stock Polaris RZR to a fourth place finish.

It wasn’t just the pro riders who showcased Holz equipment. In the Pro-Am ATV ranks, Dillon Zimmerman (Lake Elsinore, CA) won the class with a whopping 3-minute margin. The win positions Dillon for a run at the year-end title, as he sits just two points behind current points leader Josh Row.

“It was another great weekend for our racers and Holz Racing products,” said Mark Holz, owner of Holz Racing and winner of the Rhino Mod UTV Performance class. “Josh (Frederick) has been unstoppable all season long, and we’re really starting to get our Holz Polaris RZR dialed in. The handling was incredible this weekend.”

With just one race left, Josh Frederick has the number one plate sewn up for next season and Beau Baron is currently sitting third in points, but is just three points out of second place in the year-end points standings. “Beau has a real shot at giving Holz Racing a one-two finish in the Pro ATV class,” Holz said. “He already has one win on the season and a strong finish could put him in the number two spot at season end.” The World Off-Road Championship Series is one of the premiere off-road racing series in North America. Last year more than 11,000 racers competed in WORCS at some of the most grueling and challenging tracks and courses anywhere. The final race of the season is scheduled for October 24-26 in Taft, California.
