1st Annual UTV Rally - Moab, Utah

The 1st Annual UTV Rally in Moab, Utah was a grand success. How could it not be, located in some of the greatest rock crawling in the world?! Moab, Utah is one of the most amazing areas to experience with any type of tire on the rocks. Let me tell you, those SideXSides laid some serious tread down and took control of the Jeep safari trails!

Three trail rides left every morning – an easy, moderate, and difficult. The easy runs included a trail out to the White Wash Sand Dunes or a trip out to Gemini Bridges. Moderate runs weren’t really for the faint of heart and included the 7-Mile Rim and Metal Masher trails. For those that really wanted to test the ability of their machines, they tackled the Gold Bar Trail, Golden Spike, or the Poison Spider trial. Regardless, there was a trail ride for everyone to join. (Check out our trail notes for some great trail stories!)

The trails kept us busy for the majority of the day but, as everyone headed back to the Archview RV Resort, there were lots of other activities taking place. Thursday night kicked off with the opening of the vendor area and the start of a huge raffle put together by Chris Rademacher, organizer of the UTV Rally. The vendor area was slow compared to most of the events that we do, but this gave us time to talk to everyone individually and hear about their day and where they usually ride. We started taking a poll to see where everyone was from, and there were people from everywhere…Oregon, Arizona, California, Alabama, Iowa, New York, Wyoming, South Dakota, Nevada, Ohio, Washington, of course Utah and I am sure there were more! We were amazed at how far they had traveled to participate in the event!

Friday hosted the Poker Run through Bull Canyon, which takes you to the bottom of Gemini Bridges and then back around to the Gemini Bridges trail, which puts you on top of the arches. Our poker hand stunk! And with such a great prize as a WARN Winch we were really trying our luck! But we couldn’t complain. After all, we had another great day with our stock Rhinos on the trails.

You guys were a great group to be around.
Mom and Dad couldn’t have been nicer people. Mike’s a character and loves to ride for sure.
Then there’s Charlene. Would you quit giving me heart attacks by standing soo close to all those ledges!!! Geeze, I got dizzy watching you get so close taking pictures. Between you Charlene and my son Roger I thought someone was going to fall.

Anyway, I hope you all come back to Moab next year because we will be there and we would like to see all of you again.

    Take care, Roger
