9:50Mike L:  Drag racing saw a few different types of machines, from SXSs to sport quads to utility 4×4s. Run what you brung.

9:54Mike L:  Pole bending is up next after the sled pull. How much pole can a UTV bend if a UTV could bend pole? Say that 10 times fast!
9:55Mike L:  Mr. Canopener,

Sorry we missed you this event. I hope we can see you on the next go ’round. Thanks for checking in.

9:57Mike L:  Can’t wait for John Anderson tonight – should be AWESOME! http://www.johnanderson.com/
10:27Mike L:  We had to have a pull-off to determine the sled pull winner…that’s great.
10:30Mike L:  Doing a little bit of racecourse redesign. The section after the cars was tough and had a few too many holes for stock UTVs and quads. A little dirt should do the trick.
10:31Mike L:  Anyone out there know Tony?

If not, check him out http://tonystoys.com/.

10:37Mike L:  Speaking of knowing people, do ya’ll know Pork Chop? He’s famous around these parts.

10:52

Expand
10:55Mike L:  Pole bending is for the rider who enjoys doing donuts on/in his machine. Think barrel racing in a rodeo and you get the idea.
11:48Mike L:  Ladies Dash For Cash is going to be good. Full Throttle and PIAA threw in money for the event and we’ve matched it. $200 from Trails End Campground. Then $250 from GBC. We’re matching it ALL! Come on ladies – get dirty. It’s worth it.
11:49Mike L:  J Strong has now added $100 to the pot. Thanks.
11:50Mike L:  Dash For Cash is up to $1,500. Mud Bog in 15 minutes!
11:56Mike L:  Too bad you’re not in the crowd…we’re tossing out free stuff!
11:57Mike L:  Pole bend competition was great. One small tip over – that’s it (He’s safe and sound and so is his machine). Nice job crew and riders!

12:02Mike L:  Keith Bryant from Greenville, S.C., is at Brimstone on his Arctic Cat 500 4×4 and just scored an event T-shirt. “I’m loving it…It’s my first time to Brimstone…they got some good trails,” he said. “[For those not here] You missed a good time.”

12:12Mike L:  MUD BOG SOON! Kids first.
1:50Mike L:  Mud bog and the GBC Ladies Dash For Cash is complete. ATVs and SXSs in the slop. We followed that up with three (yes three) heats of ladies in the mud. First three heat finishers moved on to the finals. Then those ladies swam through the muck for the top prize (somewhere around $1,300 give or take a nickel). GBC Motorsports’ Randy Tsai held the money and ended up a muddy mess himself. Crazy!
2:15Mike L:  More free shirts and stickers going out – the crowd loves it. Well, at least until I run out in front of them. Sorry people!
2:17Mike L:  The mud bog was great. Here are a few images of what you missed.
2:17

Expand
2:19Mike L:  The SXSs had an easier time with the pit, obviously, but it was still fun to play in the slop.
2:19

Expand
2:21Mike L:  The beginning of the bog was like soup. The latter half was a sticky!
2:21

Expand
2:23Mike L:  Check out the ladies prior to their foot bog!
2:23

Expand
2:25Mike L:  Dive in ladies. No pushing!
2:25

Expand
2:27Mike L:  OK, so you ladies sure aren’t as purdy as you used to be. I hope I can say that. Maybe I should say – cleaner!
2:27

Expand
2:32Mike L:  I wonder if Randy Tsai from GBC Motorsports knew if he was going to get a muddy hug? Good thing he’s a good sport. He said, “Man, I wore the wrong outfit for this.” Jesi, our winner, made sure he got a little dirty.
2:32

Expand
7:35Mike L:  Sunday was a busy day, but oh so good. The racing was crazy.
7:37Mike L:  We had a late Saturday night listening to John Anderson and then tearing down the equipment. After that we set up the remainder of the race track. John Anderson is a soild performer.
7:37

Expand
7:40Mike L:  ATV racing got started at around 8 a.m. We had a mix of utility and sport quads. A sport quad racer won – he ran a great race and won by two laps.
7:40

Expand
7:41Mike L:  This is our winner!
7:42Mike L:  Second place went to a utility quad racer. A King Quad 4×4 complete with a rear rack box.
7:42

Expand
7:47Mike L:  JESI STRACHAM took third and put in a VERY impressive ride.
7:47

Expand
7:48Mike L:  The course was fairly muddy thanks to our own water sections as well a drizzly morning. After the ride, the only clean part on our winner’s ATV was this Pro Armor sticker (perfect!)
7:48

Expand
7:50Mike L:  The UTV class grew from five to more a dozen. It all started with a mandatory rider’s meeting.

7:51Mike L:  Check out those Side X Sides!
7:56Mike L:  This was the last SXS team to make it to the starting line. Good thing, as they went on to win the event!
7:56

Expand
7:58Mike L:  The track was nasty both in the woods and in our obstacle course. A lot of racers said they enjoyed the small jump coming up to the finish line. Most said the upper section (with rocks, logs, cars and tires) was not fun.
8:21Mike L:  The rock section was nasty for everyone, but some drivers found the best line and made it look easy.
8:21

Expand
8:22Mike L:  The tires looked like trouble, but caused no harm for the SXSs.
8:24

8:27Mike L:  After 4 hours of racing, these three teams earned the right to stand on our custom podium. The winners recorded two more laps than second place.
