One of two federal commissioners votes to grant a 1-year stay in enforcing ban on sale of youth-size ATVs

Youth-size 4-wheelers and dirt bikes have not returned to showroom floors, but the head of the Consumer Product Safety Commission said they should, at least for a year.

Legislation that took effect in February to regulate lead levels in children’s products meant retailers stopped sales of all-terrain vehicles for children 12 and younger. Manufacturers and industry associations requested an exemption from the law.
