Pro Precision Kawasaki BOB

ProPrecision, Inc. of Banning, CA has everything customers need to personalize their off-road toys: cages, suspension, seats, convenience accessories, and performance upgrades. Whether it’s a sand car, UTV, or even a Jeep, they have quality parts designed with driver and passenger convenience and functionality in mind. They focus on quality in the construction and sexy in the finish.
Gary and Julie Probst, owners of ProPrecision, got a Kawasaki Teryx for their first Side X Side, which made it an easy choice to participate in the Battle of the Builders. In their overall off-road experience they have learned a few lessons about purchasing a first UTV. First of all, they recommend that customers use their new Side X Side in the stock condition for awhile before they make any modifications. Then, after driving it a bit, make a list of “likes/don’t likes” and “wants/needs” before beginning any build. Once that is done, prioritize the list, considering safety first. Do the build in stages and look for products that can be built upon.
Before ProPrecision started their Teryx build, they removed the stock cage, front and rear bumpers, A-arms, air box, CDI box, and exhaust. They replaced the stock cage with a Sniper Deluxe Cage, which was Gary’s favorite accessory for its styling and “safety first” mindset. With an optional Explorer Rack system, customers can hit the trail all day. Sniper also built the aluminum roof, fixed doors, front bumper, and rear bumper. The ProPrecision Tilt Steering with a 9-hole adapter was the most time-consuming part of their build because the system is a brand new part for them. Design, prototyping, fit, finish, installation instructions, and templates are all part of the process, which takes additional time up front. Gary is happy with the end result and feels the time invested was well worth it.
The engine mods were a bit of a challenge to get them to work together, but they were able to work out the right combination. Dasa Racing hooked them up with their dual exhaust system, which gave them an 8 HP increase over stock. The trick to the upgrade was getting the jetting and air flow to match. They took their Teryx to Jason at In-Gear Technology, where he set them up with a Moose Stage III Jet Kit with .180 front mains and .175 rear mains. ProPrecision also replaced the stock air box with a Dasa open air filter.Another feature that Gary is really please with is the CST Long-Travel Kit. The kit is reasonably priced and easily installed. It comes with upper and lower arms, axles, and tie rod extensions. It uses the stock ball joints and bushing. The kit can be upgraded with a set of Walker Evans or Fox Racing shocks to improve an already great ride. Out of the box, the kit gives the Teryx a 3” wider stance and 12” of overall travel.
Conveniences features on the ProPrecision Teryx include a Grant steering wheel and a Moose storage console. Drivers and passengers sit comfortably in Twisted Stitch Cruiser seats with adjustable headrests and Cerullo 4-point seat belts. Eagle Eye HID lights make night drives much easier. 14” ITP wheels with 26” Terra Cross tires add performance and styling.

The ProPrecision build was done over a three-month time period, rather than in two or three crazy days. Paying work had to be done first while this project was done on the side, but this gave Gary the opportunity to work precisely and with a lot of thought. Just as he recommends to customers, Gary thinks ahead and does the job right the first time.
